Thank you for your interest in Chatham Yacht Club (CYC). We are thrilled that you are considering joining our community this coming summer and look forward to welcoming you.

As background, CYC is committed to the same principles that have guided it since its founding in 1921:

• To provide sailing instruction to children, adolescents, and adults
• To organize and sponsor racing experiences for all ages in the Pleasant Bay area of Cape Cod, MA
• To foster its culture based on volunteerism, inclusion, and multi-generational involvement

To achieve these ends, CYC has an active Sailing School for children and youth and also manages a very popular Adult Sailing program. Sailboat racing is a core part of the Club’s activities and all those with interest in racing are encouraged to join. CYC hosts a variety of social events through the summer to foster a community of friendship. Finally, all members are asked to volunteer in some way. The club relies on the involvement of its members in every aspect of its organization.

The clubhouse is located on the grounds of Eastward Ho! Golf Club and operates from the middle of June until the middle of August each year.

Sailing School

The CYC sailing school program runs for approximately 8 weeks during the summer.  

Sailing School registration is broken into four week or eight week options, with classes operating several times a week.  The skills taught throughout the summer are sequential and best suited for sailors who plan to attend all classes rather than dropping in for a few weeks. 

Our youngest sailors begin sailing in Beetlecats and progress to Optis, Sunfish, Lasers or 420s.

An Adult sailing class is also offered during the week and on Saturdays. 

Racing

There are CYC race series on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.  Sailing school participants also have the opportunity to race at CYC and in 'away' regattas throughout the Cape. 

Social

There many social gatherings throughout the season from luncheons, cocktail parties, picnics and beach gatherings. 

Volunteer

CYC runs on the spirit of volunteerism.  All members are expected to volunteer in some fashion or another. 

Membership Categories

• Family with children
• Family with no children
• Individual 
• Supporting - This membership is intended for people who are no longer using the club regularly (typical of families whose children have graduated from sailing school), but who would like to support CYC, stay connected, and perhaps attend a social event or two.
• Young Adult -  Intended for adults between the ages of 25-30. Adult children of existing members remain part of their parents family with children membership until the age of 25.
